The overall purpose of the MBM is to enhance the executive management capacity of its membership for the purpose of fostering effective governing and supporting local governments.

 THE MBM ACHIEVES ITS GOALS BY:

• Facilitating the exchange of ideas and information to address critical issues affecting our communities

• Providing innovative technical, executive and management assistance to local municipal leaders through best practices

• Encouraging strategic partnerships with business, non-profit and government sectors

• Developing strategic research and historical resources for the public

• Encouraging youth development through educational outreach and programmatic solutions

• Providing leadership development and scholarship opportunities and,

• Developing effective programs and research to address social, economic and health disparities
